Costuming
As a self taught costumier (learned on tours through trial and error) I am influenced by the genius costuming works of Mardi Love, pioneer of many of the most popular elements in Tribal Fusion costuming. In using Tribal costume remnants and old leather work, all with a story, given a second life, I aim to create a magical , elaborate wardrobe for the stages I share with friends and mentors all over the world.
Sewing things to other things, gathered from flea markets, antique shops and vintage clothing specialists. The older, grungy and worn the better. Victorian textile scraps and old glass buttons, each piece has a story, each makes me very happy…
So every now and then I will share costuming ideas and tricks I have learned on the road…as when I first joined the troupe 3 years ago, I could barely sew a button, I had to learn fast!! I hope I can save you some time through my mistakes!
Please feel free to add comments on what has or has not worked for you!
